Secret Pics

Secret Pics is a desktop application for macOS designed to store your personal photos in encrypted form. The application provides an additional layer of security for images you want to keep private from others' access.

Key Features

Password Encryption Every image you import into the application is encrypted using a password of your choice. Without the correct password, images cannot be opened or viewed. The encryption process uses AES-GCM security standards with PBKDF2 key derivation to ensure strong security.

Limited Preview The application allows you to view image previews without opening them in a separate window. After entering the password, a thumbnail of the image is displayed in the preview panel. This makes it easy to identify images without having to fully open them.

Integrated File Management All encrypted images are stored in a dedicated folder called SecretPics within your documents directory. The application automatically tracks these files and displays them in a neat list. When you delete an image from the application, the actual file is also removed.

Identification Thumbnails Every imported image automatically generates a small thumbnail that is stored in an unencrypted state. These thumbnails help you recognize images without having to open the actual files. Thumbnails are kept small (150x150 pixels) to maintain security.

Grid and Detail Views The application interface is divided into two panels. The left panel displays a list of all your images in a list format with mini thumbnails. The right panel shows detailed information about the selected image along with a larger preview after successful decryption.

Layered Security Images that have been previously opened remain in an "unlocked" state during the current session, making it easy to switch between images without repeatedly entering passwords. You can also manually lock images again at any time.
